Nestled at Mayfair's iconic Mount Street is this beautiful Michelin starred restaurant called Jamavar. Drawing its inspiration from the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, this place is a feast for the senses as soon as you enter. I kid you not when i say that just stepping into this ‘highly in demand Indian restaurant' makes you feel regal. With my friends, Sheetal and Satej Jaywant, we decided to explore this much talked about restaurant. The food here is an encapsulation of different cuisines from all around India, especially the north, which in the capable hands of Chef Surendra Mohan, have transformed to become a heavenly experience for the taste buds. The menu by itself is so varied that it leaves you spoiled for choice. The flavour of every dish with their delicate blend of smoke and spices will leave you salivating and the presentation is so beautiful that you are almost hesitant to touch such perfection. After a lot of deep thought and discussions, we did finally manage to pick a few that we knew we couldn't leave without tasting!Every dish was like consuming a memory itself and every bite left you wanting for more. And although i was really disappointed in not being able to try every single dish on the menu, i was content with the fact that Jamavar was leaving me room to explore more of their brilliant creations the next time I am in London. What a wonderful experience it was! Thank you for letting us experience the making of your culinary magic, Chef Surendra Mohan! Until next time🥂 ... See MoreSee Less

London, what a whirlwind of wonder! From the ancient Tower of London to the rhythm of the Underground, this city has been a blend of history, vibrancy, and culinary delights. Borough Market’s fresh produce & rich cheeses were a chef’s dream, while the crispy, golden fish and chips were an absolute must.Discovering Dalton Curve Garden – a cozy, community space where pets and people gather – led me to meet @rebeccahendin a creative illustrator who gifted a culinary experience to her parents. Conversations flowed like old friends, reminding me how small the world really is.Reuniting with the maestro, Raja sir, and his son Karthik after months, seeking his blessings and wishing him for his new symphony .I gifted a Kalimba, an African instrument, to mark a beautiful moment. London, with its layers of flavor, history, and connection, will always have a special place in my heart. #LondonAdventures #ChefLife #FoodStoryteller #BoroughMarket #DaltonCurveGarden #CulinaryJourney #GratefulHeart ... I admit…the first time I heard the mention of this dish…I was honestly amused. After all, why would anyone name a dish Spotted Dick? But turns out it was just a traditional British dried fruit pudding😂The "spotted" bit refers to the visible dried fruit like raisins or currants throughout the pudding, while "dick" as it turns out is an old-fashioned term simply meaning "pudding".Fun fact: it is also sometimes called the ‘Spotted Dog’ or ‘Railway cake’ in Ireland....#britishfood #foodie #instafood #food #foodporn #englishfood #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #homecooking #londonfood #british #foodlover #ukfoodie #ukfood #chef #homemade #fishandchips #comfortfood #delicious #london #yummy #supportlocal #uk #restaurant #tasty #breakfast #england #chips #baking ... Daughters are such a lovely blessing. Some how their abundant capacity to love family, born into or chosen, seems to be boundless.I had the opportunity to meet 3 such amazing and loving daughters recently through our Airbnb experience. As a birthday gift to their dad they wanted to make sure that he had an extra special day!Living in different parts of the world, the 3 sisters coordinated and planned seamlessly so as to be able to create a unique experience for their lovely parents. And guess who they picked to create a wonderful dinner experience😎Roy and Susan are a wonderful couple who were an absolute delight to be around. Roy, a wonderful human and a great legal mind who was with the Federal Reserve Bank turned out to be quite the charmer, I must say. For the menu, we decided to keep it simple and elegant, just like the beautiful couple. There were some dietary restrictions but we made sure to work around it to create a delightful menu. So for this special meal, we decided to go with;* Pappa Al pomodoro soup* Eggplant and tomato tartlet* Truffle pasta with Jumbo Shrimp* French Scallops with Saffron and salsa ( Roy’s Favourite )* Apple Tartlets with Caramel Sauce.Truly though, I think the highlight of this dinner was just the great conversations that flowed across the table about food, family and life. To watch them both glow with pride as they talked about each of their talented daughters will forever be a core memory to me. You could love and fierce loyalty they felt just in the way they spoke. To be able to do that must truly be such a fulfilling feeling. I love it when simple dinners turn into such beautiful memories. Thank you Aron, Becca, Roy & Susan for having us. And I am even more thankful for your gracious review about us. We hope to see you again soon🥂 ... See MoreSee Less

Funny how dish named the Welsh Rarebit or Welsh Rabbit either reminds you of hunting season or in my case, Bugs Bunny😆But once again the brits got me with their humor coz turns out the Welsh Rarebit is nothing but CHEESE ON TOAST! A 'must have' pub food, this open faced fondue sandwich is usually flavored with Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard and paprika. So though it may have sounded like a simple bland dish in the start…it is anything but and I get their love for it. Fun fact: As to why it is called Welsh Rabbit then…the version i heard is the meat-inspired name of this meatless dish originates from Welsh peasants who used cheese as an affordable alternative to meat and were maybe trying to be a lil cheeky 🤷🏽#britishfoodr#foodieo#instafood##foodf#foodporn #englishfoodn#foodphotographyh#foodstagramo#foodbloggero#homecookingo#londonfoodl#britishd#foodlover##ukfoodie #ukfoodi#cheff#homemade #fishandchipss#comfortfoodo#delicious##londonu#yummyd#supportlocalp#ukt#restaurantr#tastya#breakfast##englandt#chipsa#bakingps #baking ... Valentine’s day! One day we, at Food Raconteur, mark our calendars because we know our schedule is going to be absolutely crazy. But honestly I have no complaints. Celebrating a day of love and meeting people so madly in love is such a beautiful thing. One of my recent posts was about two amazing people who have shared 25 years of marriage and are still brilliantly in love. An amazing feat if you ask me. Though, meeting clients this valentine's day made me realize that be it 25 years or 2-5 years, the idea of love is ever so constant and spectacular. As usual we had a crazy day with all the booking but each and every guest was so nice and accommodating that it made the chaos just melt into the background. There were a few moments that stood out for us and filled us with absolute joy. Like Sergio and Arina, a repeat valentine's day client who we met when they were just dating, they wanted to repeat the experience which we were all too happy about but that happiness was doubled when we found out that they got married just a few months back!👏🥂we had they most lovely time with the newlyweds and their fur babies. We love you guys and you fur babies❤️Then we had Heather Evans who though it was last minute was keen to create a romantic French menu for the person she loved. How could we say no? She was thrilled with the lunch menu we arranged to perfection just for her! You’ve gotta love LOVE!😁And then there was Marcus, a die-hard romantic who went in with no holds barred when it came to impressing his lady love! When i say this man bought all the works, i mean it. We are talking about perfect music, rose petals, lights, flowers, tons of gifts and of course all his lady love’s favourite dishes, including fresh oysters!she was over the moon obviously but it all paled in comparison to the love her eyes held for Marcus. Thank you for letting us witness your beautiful relationship, Marcus!Call me sappy but when you get to be a part in celebrating such beautiful relationships, how can one not be.Here’s to love in all its forms!🥂🫶🏻🥂 ... Now there are 2 things the British have down just right!1. Coming up with fun names for their food 2. Using leftovers in yummy ways. Bubbles and Squeak are these yummy fried golden brown patties made up of potatoes, carrots, cabbage and peas, that usually get leftover after a nice Sunday roast. It gets its name because of the sound it makes while being fried. This happens when pressure is let out through gaps since all the veggies are so tightly packed together to make the patties. It is usually served with a side of sausages or fried eggs.Fun fact: Originally this dish was made with left over roast beef and cabbages only....#britishfood #foodie #instafood #food #foodporn #englishfood #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #homecooking #londonfood #british #foodlover #ukfoodie #ukfood #chef #homemade #fishandchips #comfortfood #delicious #london #yummy #supportlocal #uk #restaurant #tasty #breakfast #england #chips #baking ... Shepherd's Pie is a warm and comforting dish made up of 2 layers. The top layer is usually mashed potatoes and the bottom layer is made of minced lamb. This pie is then baked in an oven until the mashed potato on top is golden and the minced lamb is bubbling. It is usually served with garden peas.It is said that Shepherd's Pie gets its name from the minced lamb used on the bottom layer, since Shepherds look after sheep.Minced lamb is an important ingredient in this dish. If beef is used instead of lamb, it is then known as a ‘Cottage pie’ and not a Shepherd's pie. Fun fact: in some places, the meat-free version of this pie is called a ‘shepherdless’ pie😄...#britishfood #foodie #instafood #food #foodporn #englishfood #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #homecooking #londonfood #british #foodlover #ukfoodie #ukfood #chef #homemade #fishandchips #comfortfood #delicious #london #yummy #supportlocal #uk #restaurant #tasty #breakfast #england #chips #baking ...
